Looking for advice for a beginner

Well, not necessarily new to fly tying, I would say I’m new to Flymph tying. What would you guys recommend as a beginners set of capes to pick up to begin tying some flies. I generally chase Brooktrout and wild brown trout on small streams in Connecticut. I do have some fly tying materials, but not a lot for soft tackles. Thanks in advance.

For a start, I would get some inexpensive Indian hen necks in a variety of colors. A great way to practice! ;)

If you like tying these flies move on to some Whiting Hen necks, they are more expensive, but the quality of the feathers and consistent size allows you to tie more than one fly per feather.
