All of those will fish, but I'm most partial to the "grey shadow," second row, third column.

At any rate, any time I feel the need to go "buggy" with my dubbing mixes (which is pretty much always ) I've taken to mixing in a bit of the "Canadian Brown Mohair" that Bob Story at Feather-Craft sells--lots of nifty shades in there. I think you will like adding wool/mohair to different substrates, and I think they'll make for a little more durable fly than those that use loosely spun yarn.

Lance the toothbrush only works to separate and tease out the yarn, not mix it. A dubbing comb or head-lice comb work just as well, just sometimes the nylon toothbrush works better as it does not break as many fibers.
I do like Dubbn's idea on the air mixing though, very clever!

Nice set of flies, all of them are very capable fish takers and the scanned images are great.

Been playing with wool myself (Thanks Letumgo and Mom!), it creates a more vivid texture than off-the-shelf dubbing. I mostly use it on my seatrout flies, mix it with seals fur to get some transparency.

And Martin, it is indeed good to see you here again, however briefly. Our Swedish connections have been pretty thin for a while. Stefan (Daring Duffer) is on extended leave, alas. I hope your sea trout efforts were successful. Those flies were splendid.
