Popsickle type

Similar to a Popsickle steelhead fly, but not as coloful! I thought, why not.
Wound natural pheasant marabou as a spider. Haven't fished it yet.
Size 12 scud hook
Peacock herl bump benind the pheasant.

That should have a nice "leechy" look to it in the water. We're having a bumper crop of leeches this year and the trout and small mouth are helping to reduce the population.

I'd be very tempted to fish this as a micro leech pattern (tiny streamer). There is a crystal clear spring creek that has weedbeds that can be difficult to fish. I bet this pattern would pull some nice trout out of their ambush holes.

The trick with these type flies is to dunk them under and squeeze every bit of air out of them before fishing. Once the fibers are completely saturated, the pull under the surface and swim very seductively.
