Un-natural material, of sort...

Post by daringduffer » Wed Oct 13, 2010 8:59 am

The other week I bought a hare's mask dyed picric olive. I had to wash it today because it was very dirty. Afterwards I dried it with paper towels before using my wife's hair dryer. I found that using a velcro stick both speeded up the process and made the fur very fluffy. I "cupped" the mask into a natural shape before letting it dry. This makes it easier to"crop". More volume but more convenient too. It is now beautiful and unnaturally coloured

Thanks for the tips, dd. I have a couple badly misshapen hares masks. This may "do the trick", to make them easier to work with. Do you guarantee the results, or do I proceed at my own risk? (humor)

Mike,

Outstanding Article! Thanks! Will surely use this info- could have saved me some "work" in the past, though.

Have been on the look out for full skins for a while now, haven't managed to locate any so far. Hard to get much variation in patches.

Mike, Have I told you how glad I am that you are back? Quite a bit of your knowledge goes right over my head (usually because I am not paying close enough attention). A fair amount does manage to stick and I have to go, "OOHhhhhhhh..." . Thanks for the valuable info you share with us and please let us know when you will write a few books ...hint hint...

Mike, great compilation of information. This is all over the internet but in a mess of tidbits and confusing organization. Your info is spot on and well organized. Unfortunately very hard to find anywhere. Now I know where to send my students for the info concerning the essential hare's mask use. Thanks a bundle.
