I use the Wasatch ceramic micro bobbin and recommend it highly.

PS - Your website is outstanding, Norm. Your tying and tutorials are top notch! I have long admired your tying.

I use some regular bobbin holders, just bend the legs. Seems to work ok, but would like something better.
It seems to me I saw a post here (or somewhere) about making an adapter for the Rite bobbin holder for Pearsall's
bobbin size. Looked like a pretty good idea, but wasn't that far into soft hackles then, so I didn't copy it for the notebook. Maybe someone with a better memory than mine (which would be most anyone) can recall where that was.
I'd like to modify some of my Rite's for this.

There are various ways of doing it, you can use spacers to make the spool fit a "normal" bobbin holder;

http://www.johnnyspond.com/stonefly-mod ... acers.html ( USA )

or you can use a "dedicated" holder;

Scroll down for the Pearsalls bobbin holder.

Also this may still work ; We can build a custom Rite Bobbin for your Pearsall's. ritebobbins@aol.com

Also I read that a guy just hacksawed off a piece of a rite bobbin and the pearsalls then fit, but I don't have any details.

No, although that is also excellent. I was referring to modifying a "Rite" Bobbin holder in some way. I simply can't find the link any more. I remember it had to do with hack-sawing something but I can't remember exactly what.

I will add a comment to the post you linked for a possible modification you might like.

Regards and tight lines!

Mike
