JohnP, thankyou so very much for the dubbings. I was quite surprised to see the extra (I have a weakness for Orange). I am in your debt sir!
The cat thinks he will never be shaved again!
Again, thank you sir, I appreciate it so very much,
Wayne

I have never tyed with Llama before, so I did not know what to expect. It was quite coarse for this small of a fly but I was able to use it. I am very excited about using the Llama in some of my larger Stone Nymphs!
Llama/Pink
Hook - Dai-Riki 135 size 14
Thread- Fl. Pink UTC 70
Abdomen - Brown Llama provided by JohnP
Rib - Tag of thread
Thorax- Pink Ostritch
Collar- Dark Furnace (Hen)
I have a buddy that tyes a similar fly as this in the same color schemes. He is quite successful with it, as I am sure I will be.
I am having a blast with the materials. Thank you once again.

Thats quite buggy looking. I bet it would make some great caddis pupae imitations.

The original pattern does not have the hen hackle collar. Yes, it does look buggy, but the more I look at it, the more I think that it is too busy. I am sure it will produce for me, but I think I will lose the collar on the rest.
Thanks for the kind words Smuggler.

Great fly Wayne! I have not used llama dubbing before, but I have used a number of the Fly Tying Dubbings. Great stuff.
Your a good man, John.

Wayne, that little number looks like it would do just the trick. I can certainly agree about the llama dubbing. I did some fooling around with the stuff a while ago and ended up finding a way to work with it. There are a number of threads from that period about tying with it. I'll see if I can find a good one. Here's one.

Not
quite the traditional wingless wet style, but I believe a nice illustration of one application of Llama:

Llama (pink)

Llama (olive)
Cheers.
