I know that we have a colour chart for Gossamer silk but does anyone have a colour chart for Pearsall Stout Floss.
I bought some wooden spools with the stout floss but there are missing some numbers.

Ruard, Howdy;
I went to the refrence section of the LINKS page;
and found this;
http://www.libstudio.com/References/Pea ... _Sheet.pdf
Scroll down to the second page and the written section will show the reference
for which color is used in which type of thread... Hope this is what you are looking
for.
OR ..... check this out;
http://www.flyfishingnetwork.com/FlyBuy ... Wools.html
Top section lists colors and in () has numbers.

Hi Hank,
Thank you for the link. The first one is all about Gossamer, Napels and Marabou Silk, but stout floss has other numbers. In the second link I miss the colours with the numbers, a description is quite poor.
thanks anyway.

Ruard, Howdy;
Perhaps, if you were to email the second link,
they may be better able to help with your quest.

Ruard - I had the following information about Pearsall's Stout Floss colors (Unfortunately I have lost the original source link):
051 Highlander Green
053 Hot Orange
084 Olive Green
153 Lemon Yellow
156 Gold
158 Silver
166 Red (Scarlet)
177 White
178 Black
181 Cambridge Blue
184 Royal Blue
191 Claret
202A Brown
436 Purple
151 Primrose Yellow
Underbody (Silver)
I have many of the above colors, but not a complete set. When I have more time, I will gather my spools together and post a photo of the ones I own, for others reference.

Speaking of "Stout," does it separate into individual plies like Marabou, or is it simply a hank of silk?

Ha, thanks Ray.
BTW, Hank: don't knock silk--makes for a great underlayer for hikers. (Of course I'd wear mesh pantyhose as an insulating layer if I could find it in my size.
