Homebound with a light snow falling. No better mood for tying.

Hook. .....Partridge Dry fly supreme UE. Sz 10. ***It looks big in the vise** lol
Thread. .....Utc 70. Tan
Tail. .....Three wood duck flank fibres
Body. ..... SLF blend
Ribbing. .....Gold wire sm. **The gold wire ribbing came out quite nice but my poor quality camera makes it almost invisible. Too bad
Thorax. ..... slightly darker slf blend. I would next time try for a sharper contrast in colors.
Hackle. .... Golden plover

Looks good! Your fly has a nicely tapered body.

Where did you find the up-eye Partridge hooks?

Thanks- Ken

Ken,
You have done it again! Just the right combo of materials and flawless execution! I agree with the snowy day analogy! Many times, my evening tying is done on the cusp of some sort of weather event, mostly snow storms! There is some kind of magic here that sparks great ingenuity and creativity! Call it what you will! In your case, it seems to be setting squarely over your den!

Dougsden,

I save all my specials flies to be tied on snowy nights as I do believe that a fly tied during a snowstorm
has a little extra mojo. The colder, the darker, the snowier the night the better the fly. đŸ¤“

Poor fish. That's a good one.

Beautiful fly and I second the tapered body. It's brilliant!

You're right about tying on snowy nights. There's something about those times that just bring out the magic in tying flies.

I'm also ready to order some more hooks and those new Partridge hooks are on the list.
