Just for a challenge

I thought I'd give this a try. It doesn't look too good in the photo, but that's alright, it doesn't look too good in person either. It's a size 22. I just threw some things together to see if I could tie a flymph this small, and I think with the proper amount of material and getting the tail length a bit shorter, I may have something. Maybe I will try it without a tail next time.
I'll keep trying.

You can tweak the pattern shown a bunch of different ways. Tail, no tail, shorter hackle, different hackle, thread colors.
You will find it makes an outstanding midge emerger . Especially in the Winter.
Good job!!

Thanks guys for the kindness.
Dubbn, I will take your suggestions and see what I can come up with. I was wondering if it would make a good emerge type fly for winter.

Nice tying Fishnkilts. A wee too small for this old timer.
