i like them both very much.....but specially like the second (bottom) one.....for me, there's no such thing as hackle that's to long. To long is a non-concept...........doesn't exist. Great colors in that fly. ;)

I used 6 strands of flash, 1.5 each color whole before cut

That got me thinking. A fly with a slim body I think will look good with long or short hackle, but I think I like the longer hackle on any fly with a buggier chubbier body.
or just tie em up both ways and let the fish decide :D

You should tie them both ways. There's always a good chance, certain situations where you'll be happy you have them!
