Hook: Grip 14723BL #14
Thread: Benecchi 12/0, black
Weight (optional): Lead wire, under thorax only
Tail: Coq de Leon barbs, brown pardo
Abdomen: Holographic tinsel, black; alpaca, brown, sparse(!) - in split thread - then twisted together
Thorax: Ostrich, black; hen, badger - twisted

Note: Pull barbs downwards with each turn. Pluck with tweezer any remaining barbs sticking up.

Brilliant design, Hans. Drawing the fibers downwards gives such a lovely profile.

I was a bit surprised to read mention of weight in this pattern. Is this designed to a specific insect or fishing situation?

A classic nymph Hans! But on this old Greybeard the ostrich should be grey as well. ;)
