Bluesdude and others were talking about the Orange Fish Hawk pattern in the "Top Five" thread so I thought I would tie some up for an early morning outing tomorrow.
Orange Fish Hawk 4707
Hook: Vintage Mustad 4707
Thread: Griffiths 14/0 Black
Hackle: Badger Hen Cape
Body: Rust Floss
Rib: Gold Tinsel
Thorax: just a slight touch of mole dyed black

A highly commendable version; good colors, nice body taper, graduated rib spacing, and "just right" hackle. Bring an extra

William,
Ditto what Bill said! That Mustad #4707 is a dandy! I really like your style!

Gorgeous fly, William. What a great looking iron for this pattern. Very cool hook.
Out of curiosity, can you specify the make and size tinsel that you used? This looks like a perfect size tinsel for soft hackles.

Ha. Thanks Bill, but don't look too closely. I never use floss and it shows, not that I would want to get too fussy anyway, and that ribbing is perfect for GRHE, but I've seen these fancy flies done well, and I wouldn't pretend I managed that. But thanks. I Can certainly see why these would be attractive. I'll pack a few.
Thanks everyone. I'll look at the tinsel when I'm home.
