Isonychia weekend!

Post by Smuggler » Sat Apr 28, 2012 8:47 pm

Image
Hook(s):TMC 200R hook type. Size 12-10
Thread: You guessed it, 8/0 Uni Drk brown!
Tails: Three tan goose biots. Tied on one at a time.
Rib: Doubled over black 6/0 thread
Body: Red Angora Goat dubbing
Lateral Stripe: White doubled over 6/0
Thorax: Peacock herl
Hackle: Brown Speckled hen back

I like these better than my first one I posted last week(Although I am a sucker for hair hackles). I think bushing out that angora body makes the fly look great. Plus the curved hook gives a good look as well, especially on this fly.

What do you guys think?

These are really nice. The overall profile and texture of these is a fantastic construction. I'm working on some variations of iso's myself and its a tough bug to nail down. These certainly help.
