Hans, Howdy;
Beautiful fly ... when you Palmered the hackle did you;
A. tye in at the head and wrap it to the bend or,
B. tye in by the tip at the bend then wrap to the head ???
Always intrested in the
how to's.
Thanks,
hank

Greeting Hans,
Very nice Palmer! I've been tying some of these with the Chartreuse or red nylon floss tag. After reading Flytying with Harold Howorth by Douglas C. Townsend I started adding Partridge hackle natural or dyed as a face hackle or behind the shiny hen hackle. They do work on the Trout. Your black Palmer will be (is?) a good working fly in my opinion.

Hans, Howdy;
Thanks.
Also, did you tye in the tag near the eye and use it to fill
out the body? Looks a bit full under the hackle is why I ask...

Hank,
Yes, the material is tied in just back of the eye to provide a level underbody.
Cheers,
