Gig, your flies always have just the right level of imitation for my taste. This should work out in a lot of situations. Great post.

Hello everyone,

Thankyou for the compliments. I like to keep my flies simple, a buggy nymph pattern with a hackle, in assorted colours, from basic black to red/claret with a bright pink hackle (for those days when the fish don't want to take anything I then tie on my passionate pink monstrocity to shock the trout into biting). It works for me and the fish don't mind them either, so where both happy :)
