Emergent Sulphur wingless

Post by Old Hat » Tue Apr 09, 2013 7:19 pm

Using a nylon material here to make the shuck. I forgot I had this stuff. I use to employ it quite a bit for shucks. I don't remember what the material is called. It came from a shop... the best way to describe it is that it is like a woman's nylon. I unravel it and tie it in.

Hook: gaelic supreme Syl Nemes soft hackle #14-#16
Thread: Pearsall's silk, primrose
Shuck: light brown nylon
Dubbing: Jeff's tup's mix in a split thread
Hackle: light dun hen

I hate it when I think I'm buying organic vegetables, and when I get home I discover they are just regular donuts.

Oops. Sorry I goofed. This one is actually on a TMC 3769 #16. I tied the #14 on the Gaelic hooks.

My goodness! :o   Someone is actually using a dubbing mix I blended!
Hope it does not jinx you at Roscoe- if so at least you will have something to blame. ;)

Really like that shuck material and love the eye loop on that hook.

Carl, that should do it, and the action of that shuck should really get some attention. It's a great construction.

Jeff, if he strikes out...your reputation is on the line. (little chance of that happening.)

Heck no! If that fly causes any kind of failure glitch, I would pass blame to the donor sheep and he would be banished to the freezer (his name is "Maa" by the way :o ), it must have been something he ate or rubbed against....... never be my fault.... at least while I am several thousand miles away and out of earshot!
