Chris, this is spot on! It makes the other spiders look overdressed. A fly like this just stands out like it's got a theory to prove, and can do it. I'm looking forward to the follow up shots. Great tie.

Jeff, I might have had an answer to your question, and William, I might have had a follow-up shot but I must confess I was not all that confident that less really is more. This past Sunday, I was fishing this fly's purple twin, not paying a whole lot of attention as I didn't really expect anything. When a surprisingly large shape started chasing the fly from a surprising distance away it surprised me enough that I didn't wait for a solid indication of a take and I fear I struck a fraction of a second too soon.
