I haven't been able to tie for some time,
but inspired by Hans's collection of beautifull flies,
here are a couple of Seatrout/Salmon flies,
which I think classify as wingless wets.
The first (tied for a swap a few years back)
is popular in the west highlands and Ireland.

The second is from Aberdeenshire in the east.

Hook - #8 wet
Thread - Black with red at head.
Tail - Any suitable duck fibres.
Body - White fluo chenillle.
Rib - Silver.
Hackle - Black hen.
A variant using blue dyed guinea fowl hackle.

I SURE LIKE THAT GOAT'S TOE, VERY REMINISCENT OF THE BLUE ZULU. I MIGHT HAVE TO BREAK DOWN AND BUY SOME BLUE PEACOCK FEATHERS.
THANKS FOR POSTING,
AARON

Excellent flies Donald. I especially love the body on the Goat's Toe fly.

As my web add had changed, I thought pix needed renewal.

Donald,
The Goat's Toe is a beautiful fly, but that Masson Grub just jumps out at me. It looks like it would do the business on some local waters. I'll be adding a few to the box.

I have used the Goat's Toe for a couple years now with great results on stillwater.
