Hey, it works! Another monster from the deep...

the fly:
Hook: #16 light. Silk: Pearsall's yellow, well waxed. Rib: fine gold wire.Whisks: few barbs from brown soft feather cock. Body: natural hare's ear blended with red dyed Argentinian hare's ear, twisted into split thread, sparse. Thorax: natural hare's ear mixed with ruby kinda colour dyed Argentinian hare's ear. Hackle: one turn of furnace cock, short.
Tied it on a light hook, Kamasan B170, because I wanted to fish it in the surface and just below, with a bit of a tug. No floatant. It brought plenty up, but I am not convinced it is an improvement on one of my most effective flies - the GRHE tied with the addition of this hackle and fished in this way. Still, great fun having a play and then going catch a fish with it"!
