Gold Ribbed Hare's Ear variations (swap pictures)

Creationbear - On these, I just used two generic natural light lamps (ott lite type). One from the top right and one from the left. They are my tying lights. I lifted a piece of slate tile up onto a gallon can of paint to bring it up to the level of the camera's tripod. I used my point and shoot, on macro, no flash and with a 3 second delay. Very simple and not fancy at all.
I hate it when I think I'm buying organic vegetables, and when I get home I discover they are just regular donuts.

Old Hat--thanks for elaborating; I actually just redeemed some Cabela's gift cards for a small tripod with the idea of taking a few photos of my flies (not that they'll compare to these in your swap!

Wow! Great flies. Everyone went all out! They are almost too beautiful to fish!!
Here's the recipe for mine.
Hook - size 14 1xs wet fly
Thread - camel 8/0 Uni
dark brown or black hen hackle
mallard flank tail
gold wire rib
hare's mask dubbing
For this fly I used dubbing from the dark area of the mask for the abdomen and a lighter area for the thorax. The hair on the ears is very light gray and I also make a very light coloured fly using this area and a light coloured hackle.
Thank you Carl for all the work! The pictures are great!
Happy Holidays.
Vicki

Thank you for the photo's Carl.
Here is my Pattern:
Hare’s Lug and Plover (var)
Thread: Pearsall’s Gossamer no 3
Hook: Gamakatsu F31 #14
Body: thread and dubbing: hare ( spin the dubbing on one thread, make a loop and spin)
Hackle: Golden Plover from the neck
Ruard
