Thanks Chris, that makes perfect sense. I can understand the thinking behind it, although, I cant imagine the forward hackle would actually pulse more or less than a North Country spider, being twitched and manipulated in that way. Although it does seem like a sure thing with the alpine/tenkara style. Would it be an abomination if I fished one of the dead drift with a 10 fly rod? I'll let you know how it works out. (grin)
