Mark & Hank - Thanks. Glad to hear their helpful. My pleasure.
William - I am happy to say I got out fishing this afternoon and got a chance to give this fly a swim. I can report that the fly sinks at a medium rate (somewheres in the 3 to 5 inches per second range). I think on a smaller size or lighter hook, the fly would sink a bit slower (perhaps in the 1 to 3 inch/sec range). I was able to get several nice drifts out to the fly before hooking a beautiful maple tree on a back cast (later released unharmed). *chuckle*
I didn't catch any fish this afternoon (just one bite), but it sure felt good to spend some time fishing. The sun was out, the birds were singing and many of the trees are blooming. Just glorious...
When I got home I listened to the news and the weather guy is warning of severe rain storms moving into the area with flash flood warnings. Glad I got out when I had the chance, the stream may be blown again tomorrow.
