NCA - Could you explain what "tipex" is? I have not heard of this material before. Sounds interesting.

Jon - Stunning flies and photography. I love how you've taken different element from multiple patterns and recombined them into such beauties. Inspirational, as always.

Tipex is white correction fluid you use when covering over spelling mistakes and other typos on paper.
I invented a similar product to use with computers, but sadly Mr Gates did not take me up on the idea. I thought that, and the square wheeled bicycle had the trappings of success... :?

Very interesting, if this is what you were referring to:
[urlhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tipp-Ex][/url]--we've a similar product in the States, "White-Out," so I hopefully I won't have to nick out to Tesco's. :) At any rate, it's a neat hook, though I'm curious how my non-selective but exceedingly skittish trout will react to the bright finish. Of course, you could tone down the bend/barb with a touch of matte paint...though I'd probably leave such attention to detail to the coarse-fishermen, who seem to have taken such to another level. :)

Thanks Robert. I understand now. I was reading the name as Tip-Ex (instead of Type-Ex). I get it now.

CB, these really are nicely done.

I just can't believe I tied for the first time in weeks (5-6). Sat down with some horsetail hairs and tied up quill bodies. I really liked tying with them and was looking forward to the novelty of posting a couple on the forum. Talk about timing. I have a witness as to the tying and the delay in photographic evidence. :D Bill?

Anyway. You're an impossible act to follow and it would have been nice to have been upstaged by your flies. I just shot a couple pics. I'll upload them to photobucket in a minute and post em.

Great flies and a wonderful use of the material. It does have some potential in the softhackle realm.
