Chub and Dace are coarse fish, they may have been eaten in the past, humans will try anything,
but they are fished purely for sport. The flies for Chub seem to have had tags of white wool or kid(leather).
There is only one specific Dace fly also with a white tag and seven Chub flies.
I'll type them up as a small article and download it.

ps I would recommend Roger Woolley's "Modern Trout Fly Dressings". One of the best tying books I know,
it was highly recommended by Sylvester Nemes.

Vicky, Tying flies is a matter of festive I think. The silk dubbing gives this fly a translucent halo and the red wire makes in this way a good ribbing. That is wy I like to use dubbingbrushes with wire.

Donald, I have the book of Wooly and I enjoyed it very much. Here in Holland they dry the Roach and sell them to Russia where it is a delicacy especially the "kaviaar" in them.

Thank you all for the nice words about my efforts, much appreciated.

This is how I like to see flies demonstrated. Dry then wet. Very nice tie.

I just found a copy of it on Amazon and sent off for it just now. Should be here for Christmas. :)
