Wow! Ray, I gotta issue you a challenge more often. It may have been a PITA, but it's a brilliant fly. Well done my friend.

As relaxing and focusing as tying is, I can get lost in a casting stroke. Sometimes I'll just stand in the backyard and cast, or even just keep the line in the air, doing what I want it to. Really brings the mind and body into harmony and sharp focus. Turns out it really helps out when I'm on the river as well.

What also works for me is feeling the recoil of my rifle and watching the holes appear in the target 600 to a 1000 yards away.

All three are personnally gratifying for me.
