Thanks Hank, and John. John, they are a little light in color. I think they faded a little over time. Oh, and the strong light probably made them look lighter too. No problem for me. Here is another on a 1640 hook. I like this one better. This is the look I will strive for. The hackle has a better swept back look. I had trouble fidgeting with it for the photo. But it'll do.

Kelly L. Howdy;

Thanks for reposting the photo. Those 1640's sure make a
good lookin' Spider. This and the others are gorgeous.

Thank you Hank. I saw the lettering at the bottom looked out of focus. So I sharpened it a little. Then I couldn't edit the post. I like both of these hooks quite a bit for the North Country Spiders. I am happy with these. I am too tired to tie today. I am going to rest. I have a few more Snipe & Purple flies to do. I have almost finished a whole row of them in the fly box now. Then I will probably do something with Partridge again. I ordered a couple of supplies. It will be a while before I get them. I might do some more Snipe & Yellow. I have been looking at that book, and of course it makes me want to tie more varieties of the North Country spiders...lol.

Nicely done Kelly. I usually strive for the open umbrella look to my hackle on spiders. Tied sparse and once fished they will have the swept back look soon enough. ;)

Jerry, thanks for your comments. Do you mean this look? I tied this one the first of Nov of 2011. It is hard to believe
that I am just now doing another round of them. I didn't realize it had been that long.
If this is the look you meant, I like that look too. I do them both ways. I do not have a preference at this time.

Yes Kelly that's the hackle position I go for. That's just a personal preference though as I'm sure the swept back style has its place as well.

Alright Jerry, thanks for the clarification on that. Yes, it is a matter of personal preference. I guess I have been impressed with both styles, and you will see both, in my tying. :D
