It's a shame. It would have been a pleasure to shake your hand and finally meet chat face to face. Another time.

Ruard, Howdy;

Ok, practiced with some twisted wire to see where the pit falls would
be for me... the ends of the twisted wire, both ends. :| .

So ... I started the thread, tyed on the hackle, advanced the thread 3 turns
then tyed on the brush (I was wanting a thicker abdomen so I started the brush
about 3-5cm's from the sparsely fibered end), Kept the brush along the bottom
and wrapped the tying thread to the bend. Gently moved the brush out of the way and
made a 3 wrap butt.
Wrapped the thread all the way back to the hackle then un-wrapped 5 turns ...
when the brush arrived at the tying thread I wound it past the thread then wound the
brush back 3 turns to the thread, tyed it off and buried the thread into the brush's
wraps until I had the thread behind the hackle. Then I helicoptered the brush's end off,
wrapped the hackle 1 turn, advanced the thread forward and secured it with a 3 turn whip-finish.
Think I may have nipped a few hackle fibers when I cut the thread at the very end  ...

I'll have it in the mail on Tuesday (Monday is a Holiday and no Post).

Thanks for giving me an assignment to tax my skills and problem solving abilities :D , 8-) .
I hope my description is good enough to make some kind of sense.

Hi Hank,

If I read this you did a better job than I do.

Very anxious to see the results.

Ruard wrote:Thank you Ariel for being the Swapmeister. My set arrived yesterday, very nice flies by evrybody.

As you all can see I put the materials I used with my fly. I would like it if you all tie a fly with these materials and send the fly to me, I will make pictures of them and put the pictures on the forum.
If you need my postal address send me a PM and you get it.

Greeting
By now I received two flies one from William (thank you) and one from Hank( thank you too). The reason for this challenge was to see if there is difference in tying style if several tyers used the same material. The more flies I get back the better the results. So I ask you again: please send me the fly that you tied with the materials that are in the zipbag with my fly.

I close this on the 15 of October.
