 i just automatically figured you were talkin' a Golden Pheasent..........  who the heck wants a ring neck head.................?????? :P :P :P .........although, the White feathers from the "ring" itself, are the best feathers there are to use (after being double ["tip"] dyed), for Indian Crow subs. Guess you are gonna have a bit of a problem finding that.
Better do like hank says and find a hunter......... ;)
Now you got me interested in what you need it for............ :? :D

hankaye,

I do know a hunter, and I get pheasant tail and occasionally a partridge or two, but pheasant season is long passed and this is the sort of thing you'd have to ask for in advance.

willowhead,

Did you read the description of the hackle in the original post? Half of this whole thread is about the iridescent qualities of those feathers. And the thought that most people don't want the head from a ringneck made me think that someone who had a rooster skin might be willing to part with it.

I'll ask around. Get back to ya when I know something.

Chris.....sorry i didn't remember to take the package for you to the post office with me yesterday (Sat.).....BUT! You'll be damn glad i didn't.........because, i have now added significantly to it.......you got more chickabou, a bunch of Partridge, and who knows all what else might get thrown in there before i can get to the post office tomorrow.
i spent the entire night and up until 10:30 a.m. this morning, doing a major over-haul of the tyin' room here. i had a crap load of materials in five different plastic tuves that we a real pain in the butt to even get to......every time i need something outta one of them, i hadda move all kinds of things and dig 'em out and then find what i was looking for and put everything back......a REAL pain......well, i unloaded all of them, cleaned the places where they were, repackaged a LOT of it into better heavey duty Zip lock baggies, and removed the big plastic tube altogether..............whew! It was a hell of a job, but sooooo worth it. Now, i have very easy access to all of it, and can find things when i need them, VERY easily........gonna be GREAT!
In the process, i found allllllllll kinna stuff i had forgot i even had or that had just slipped into the....."Oh Yeah.....RIGHT".....area of the memory..........and that kept me goin' all night............"whata my gonna find next?" :D
Ran across all my Skunk skins.....my Bobcat Skin, my Badger skin, pair of Coot wings, pair of English Grouse wings, Starling skin, a ton of horse hair, a Corturnix Quail skin, bunch of Brahma skins, some other Quail skins, finally found my Mole skins.....and the list goes on.......plus i can now easily "reach" a huge stash of pheasent & waterfowl skins........i'm in 7th heaven.....
So i'll try to make sure to mail your package by tomorrow, before our TU meeting. OH! one more thing i did, was take a portable tying bench outta the tyin' room, (to "live" in the ride), cleaned out the drawer within it, and loaded it up with materials, loaded bobbin holders and tools, for doin' local get togethers. Our NAFF club has a once a month tyin' meeting, apart from the regular meetings, and there's another new club that tyes once a month, plus NAFF has 4 Tye-Ins a year.....so there bout 28 times a year, i can use that thing, by just pickig it up right outta the ride and heading right in to tye without having to actually set-up.....it's already "set-up." ;) Plus it freed up a bunch of table space in the tyin' room for spreading out more materials.....hehehehehe. :o :P    8-)
