Pretty amazing I'd say, CB. You've developed a real knack for knowing just how much twist to apply to these flies, with the result that the body actually looks like it's been braided. You've scoffed at previous suggestions that you're onto something new and different with this series, but I really think you've taken this technique into uncharted territory. I love the creativity and you have a great eye for colors as well. Oh yeah, and the photos are top notch, too :) .

Well, the important thing is that my version takes absolutely no skill whatsoever--is this a great country or what? :)

At any rate, I keep being fascinated with Wulff patterns, if only because they call into question what triggers a trout to strike. I mean, is it only the accumulation of "magic" materials (peacock, thorax band, GP tail, etc.)--or do they have to be put together in the right order on the fly? I've always thought if we knew "what the trout saw" as Datus said, the alternating color bands on the traditional Wulff might spell out "yo' mama" in some piscine Morse Code. :lol:
