Olive Hatching Dun

by Old Hat
Hook: Gaelic Supreme Wet Fly #16
Thread: Griffith's 14/0 dark brown
Tail: Rusty dun cock hackle fibers
Body: Olive hare's mask and muskrat in a dubbing loop
Hackle: Quail on top and partridge on bottom. Both hackles are tied in stacked over the eye with the wing hackle on top. Wrapped the wing hackle and clipped off the bottom, then wrapped the leg hackle and clipped off the top. I think this was a method employed by Lawrie for hatching duns. Correct me if I am wrong.

I like that split hackle, looks very useful 8-)
And yes it is Lawrie, according to my books...
