Fantastic conversion, Carl. That little green hot spot has got to be worth a few fish in the net.

Great Carl, if you replaced the hackle with a brown partridge I reckon you would have a great caddis emerger

I agree Philip. I was having fun with this one and sticking to the theme of the classic GBS hairwing so popular for steelhead here in the Pacific Northwest. However, I like how this turned out and fully agree, a little tweaking of this pattern and you've got a lot of the caddis triggers to make a worthy trout catcher.

It would indeed.

When I first saw the topic, I thought you were going to be doing a regular GBS with the hair wing replaced by white hackle.

Not in keeping with the board, but relevant to the topic, have you seen http://www.royaltreatmentflyfishing.com ... .html#grid?

Bob, I like the 101 Green Butt Skunks. I was just thinking we should do something similar with the Tupp's flies.

I tied some like that but I used Pearsall's fluorescent green silk.

Nice fly OH.

I like the idea of a small "trigger" spot against the darker body.

I saw this plate at the Fly Tying Expo in Albany, OR....stared at it for about an hour I think. Left a puddle of drool on the floor when I walked away.
