Claret and Grouse

I shrunk a salmon fly pattern down to trout size. Just because I like to do that sort of thing and it looked like a nice trout pattern as well.

Claret and Grouse
Hook: Mustad 3121 #14
Thread: black
Tail: golden pheasant crest fibers
Rib: fine gold braid
Body: claret wool
Thorax: peacock
Hackle: English grouse

I could tell, by the name, I was going to love this one before I even opened it. Wow! I love it Carl. Wonderful combination of materials, and tyed with your typical grace.

Yes, that's a lovely little fly. :) I like these up-eyed hooks - they always make the fly look like it is rather elegantly swimming the breast-stroke! lol
