Beaded Soft Hackle Nymph (tup's inspired)

I received some tiny glass beads in a thank you package for tying at a show this winter. I don't use beads much at all, but these said "tup's" to me. The photo pulls a little more white glare out of color of the bead. It has a very nice pinkish color. They have sat around and last month I came up with a pattern in my head to use them on. Ray's wonderful Tup's post gave me the itch to get to the vice and tie some up.

Hook: #16 Knapek wet fly
Thread: Primrose Pearsall's gossamer silk thread
Tail: Speckled dun cock hackle fibers
Abdomen: silk thread twisted with natural mole
Thorax: glass bead
Hackle: Dark dun somewhat short

Enchanting little fly, Carl! I am especially impressed with the dubbed abdomen of the fly. I love how you can see the silk underbody though the mole dubbing. It's easy to over-do the dubbing on such a small fly. You make it look easy.

Nice touch! I don't use beads much on soft-hackles, either, but it does add a spark.
