... I've never been very good at names. ;)

Assuming you have come back, first of all, apologies for the link. Flickr has changed its nature, and I can no longer find how to embed a photo into a post on a forum. As such, I will not be renewing my two pro accounts - ie paid for (!) and I'll set up a photobucket account.

Sorry - just spent a very frustrating half hour trying to find a line of code that doesn't seem to be made available any more. Only on the internet can you agree to pay for a service, then have the provider completely change the nature of that service at their whim, with no comeback it seems for the customer. Other than to walk, of course. Or surf, should I say. ~Very short sighted of them, IMO.

Anyway, the fly
Early on in the season, I seem to remember I was happily nicking some of flyfishwithme's patterns, and tying them up with canada goose herl, as i didn't have any heron. They caught well. One in particular caught so well for me one afternoon that I ended up taking it off the cast, because it was catching grayling, and i was fairly certain they were out of season at the time. Got five, IIRC. (Note for non grayling regions - they tend to like a bit of red. :) )

So thought I'd revisit it now when they are fair game.
Hook: wet fly, #14. silk: Pearsall's yellow, waxed. Rib: silver wire. body: Canada goose herl, twisted and wound in a spiral, and silver rib wound between. Thorax: dyed Argentinian Hare's fur, a red with a bit of bronze kind of colour. hackle: partridge.

Andrew
ps - joking aside about nicking Phil's patterns (flyfishwithme) am i right in thinking Skues went in for this open spiral of herl on the body, with a rib wound over? The fish certainly seem to like it where I am, at least.

I enjoyed your flies very much. Some of them are extraordinary.

Love'em. I especially like the red thorax.
