Hi folks, just having a play. This is tied with a hackle I found lying around the farm I am staying at. Not too sure what it is, but given it's colour and barring, I am guessing it is a bird of prey of some sort, most likely a sparrowhawk?
Hook #14 wet, silk: Yellow, well waxed, Tail: Few barbs from brown soft feather cock. abdomen: light tan and dark tan argentinian hare's ear, blended, plus a bit of fiery brown seal's fur, then twisted into split thread. Gold wire rib. Thorax dubbing: as abdomen, but with addition of red hare's ear and touch of red seal's fur.
Not fished this yet so no idea if it does the business for the trout - and even if it does, no idea where I'd get the hackle from again!

Hopefully will get the chance to try it before I leave end of this week - if it ever stops raining!
Andrew.
