wire woven nymph

Hi Guys
back in August we were in Yellowstone Montana for the conclave
One of the fly patterns that outfished quite a few of the guys was the wire woven nymph.
tying as follows

hook no 12 wet
silk black 8/0
tail claret dyed cock pheasant
body black and silver utc wire
wing case clare cock pheasant with tinsel over the top
thorax black 8/0 thread
legs claret cock pheasant

One pattern that has proved to be a great fish taker is the woven wire Peter Ross,this is not only a great Sea trout pattern it is used on the Irish loughs when the fish are on the fry ad some frieds have used it for steel head.
Here is the tying for it
HOOK -NO 10 WET
THREAD- NO 8/0 BLACK
TAIL -CLARET COCK PHEASANT
REAR- BODY UTC WIRE
FRONT BODY -FLO RED DUBBING
FRONT HACKLE AND WING- BRONZE MALLARD

Great sbs. The thing about that little dark colored nymph is that it would ride down low...and a dark nymph is hard to beat. Thanks for sharing that one.

Handsome flies for sure. Great post. Looking forward to seeing more. That woven wire Peter Ross is a thing of beauty.
