Flotsam and Jetsam

Some time ago...when this board was located elsewhere and when I was posting pics more often...there was a conversation raised about the concern over the other "stuff" in the water other than aquatic food sources that drifts by as prolific as bugs. The story concerned a sulphur hatch occurring simultaniously with the bloom and drop of these perfect little yellow puffs from overhanging bushes that were so close to the hatching naturals, I couldn't tell the difference. Then the discussion of using impressionistic generic flies and why there were taken along side the flotsam and jetsam drifting along side. It was interesting...and I haven't done it justice but I did tie up a couple flies that I named Flatsam and Jetsam for Roy Christie.

Outstanding flys William! Very appealing flies, in many regards (the subtle color variations, the slender profile, the translucency). Superbly tyed, and no doubt lethal...

Can you include the recipe...hint...hint...

I was struck by your development at the vise on the previous forum. I do hope you find time to more tying and posting in the near future. I don't need you to fish, but for god's sake keep tying...

Yes,
Thank you for sharing those 2 beautiful flys. As mentioned by Ray, the subtle differances between the 2 is truly nice to behold.

Hi William;

No fair, sharing photos of these beauties without including the recipies!

They do look deadly.
