Beautiful, those materials all come together very nicely. I have to get some CdL hen, haven't worked with that before. Those hooks sure have a classic look to them. They are a little odd, but fun to tie on and hook very well. Sharp buggers they are. How do you like that wool? I really like how it dubs.

The Coq de leon is great. I wish I had more in different colors. Hans turned me on with some of his great flies he's tied with it. Get some, you'll like it.

Sharp looking fly! If your ever out stillwater trout fishing Try that in a size 18 or 20 for hatching Chironomidea or diptera.

WOW that is really cool.....what the heck hook is that? Cool lookin'.........i have a pretty good stash of CDL but it's all rooster.....gotta get some hen......i was in an online chat with Paco in Spain just two nights ago, and he's gonna send some more Pardo......wish i had thought to ask him for some hen........but even if i had thought of it, i prolly wouldn't of asked. He's sent us free stuff to many times to ever ask......i just say thank you when he offers. He used to be in the business of growing it and selling it.....but now he just has the birds for himself........best CDL in the world. Misa first met him one year when the WFFC&CS was in Spain.....and since then he's sent us feathers a few times. i was teling him bout that video i saw on the newest Japanese magazine DVD, and that's when he offered. And i wasn't even fishin'........... but i was sure as hell to well raised to refuse. Some day i'm gonna get Misa to take a pic of this folder we have........it's like an old fashion salesman's book or card.............you open it, and it's full of samples of all the different kinds of CDL there is. i been tempted to use the stuff every since we got it.....but so far i been cool. And it AINT easy...... Thing is, if i start pullin' feathers out of it......well, that'll just ruin it as a show piece. And it's really cool to see as a example of the different (sub-species?????) of CDL birds there are. Hold on........brb.............it has 9 samples in there.....6 different sets of Pardo feathers, and 3 different sets of Indio feathers. Maybe a half dozen feathers or whatever in each sample set. Makes a great display, and so far we just look at it...........
Maybe just one feather from each set...........hehehehehehehe.....

...... ..............i did it............ turns out there were at least 10 or more feathers in each set.....so pullin' one out of each didn't make any difference at all.......looks the same as it always did.
i gotta feelin' that display deal might not be long for this world..........

NEAT! That is a very cool hook. I love the look of the aggressive barb. It adds an interesting detail to a very pretty fly.
