Mark - When you twist the button-hole thread, do you use your fingers or hackle pliers?

Lovely fly by the way. Those Grip hooks are very appealing.

Hi Ray,
Well, I use my gloves for handling the thread, My hands are dry and they'd just fray the silk. I then grasp it with a qwik clip and twist it. Then I wrap and if need be, twist some more as I go along. Using the clip helps minimize the handling and twists the thread pretty well.

Nick has the Daiichi equivalent at the shop. They are 1150. There's lots of implied action to them. Really nice.

Thanks for the heads-up Mark. I'll look for those Daiichi's the next time I am at Nick's shop.

Mark,
In those sizes, I have no doubt this pattern would take some larger fish-maybe steelies. :)

i can't see why it wouldn't.....looks just like something (in color and elsewise), that they would be PISSED at just long enough for you to get a good hook up. :D Prolly be a great pattern for slightly stained water, round, or just before sun-down. :D
