What I said about the "Hareristable" applies here as well.
For some reason I have "That feeling" that the fuzzy flys will do more catchin' in that river than anything else...

Speckled hen can be found in a number of places like here:

If you can find a shop that carries these, it's nice to look at them to select the darkness, specking, and color you want. I also look at the range of feather size as well. Many look quite similar to Partridge. I've picked up some nice colors along the way.

Hen hackle wraps so nicely and comes in so many colors and degrees of motling.....it's the perfect material. Ya'll gotta remember, all those old farts from back in the days.........if they'da had what we have nowdays.....they'da used it. They didn't have no fly shops or Whiting Farms, so they hadda shoot whatever was in the backyard.....or out nestin' in the barn. :D :lol:
