Got my new Tenkara rod from Misako and am messing around with patterns to use when the weather breaks ...
Hook: Diichi 1550, #16
Thread: Sheer 14/0, olive
Hackle: French Partridge
Body: Stripped peacock herl

You did a fantastic job Bill.....that's prolly the nicest tenkara fly i've ever seen. Tenkara Dio would be impressed.

Your "messing around" far outdoes my best efforts at the vice. Very nice Tenkara fly indeed!
NJpatbee is right. Beautiful variation in the peacock quill body.

The herl that I stripped for this fly came from a natural (not bleached/dyed) Nature's Spirit eyestick.
