In the Style of ...

Post by tie2fish » Sun Feb 27, 2011 12:13 pm

Irish Mayfly patterns intrigue me, so here's one in that style ...

Hook Daiichi 1550, #8
Thread: Pearsalls' Gossamer, light olive
Front hackle: Two French partridge flank feathers wrapped at same time
Tail: Pheasant tail fibers
Rib: Small gold oval tinsel
Body hackle: Ginger cock, palmered
Body: Silk floss (Alec Jackson), lemon yellow

That is stunning! I've been looking for ideas for flies to tie for a trip to the East coast this summer and I think something along this line in a variety of colours will be awesome!
