I just re-read the section on Flymphs in Dave Hughes' book "Wet Flies", and decided to try my hand at this style. Here's the first one:
MARCH BROWN FLYMPH
Hook: Daiichi 1710, #14
Thread: Pearsall's Gossamer, crimson
Hackle: Brahma hen, mottled brown
Tail: Three pheasant tail fibers
Body: Blend of dark hare's mask and fox squirrel in dubbing loop
This photo lost.

Very nice! This is exactly how I like to tie bodies, so the thread becomes an integral part of the dressing.

Yeah OK I could use crazy glue to accomplish the same thing but it would contribute nothing to the look

I've been trying to find something about this fly I didn't like so I could make an improvment. Ain't gonna happen. Very well thought out fly and beautifully dressed.
