Hook mustad size 12.......s82-3906B
thread UNI 8/0 wine
tail 5 strands flashabou
body black ultra wire with ice dub peacock twisted up like a dubbing loop
hackle starling
rusty brown supperfine dubbing in front of hackle
black bead with lead wraps under bead and down shank of hook
I have been making a bunch of soft hackles with beads and lead for the upcoming season, I needed some heavy fly's for my double and triple fly set ups. This one is my favorite one so far.

I forgot to mention in the recipe the body has to be trimmed to shape before adding the hackle.

Cool fly.....cool tail.....i like how you dubbed where those final thread wraps go.....i always do that too, when using a bead on a nymph or whatever in that fashion.....who wants to see those bare wraps? Well done.

Thanks Hank, alwase trying to find something new to do, you will not find many duplicate fly's in my box ( that sometimes sux when i'm fishing, but usally I can find one that is close to the same and that will work fine). I tye more fly's than I will ever be able to wet on a line.

fishhead - You just described my tying to a Tee...lots and lots of different stuff. Beautiful little soft hackle. That would make a nice point fly, or steelhead searching pattern. That reminds me, I should be tying some heavy nymphs for spring steelhead. Always a good idea to have some beadhead flies for searching deep pockets.

that is good to hear because I do not know any one else that is into fly tying, so I am glad to hear that others are in the same boat.
