Nice solid nymph to emerger pattern. I like the thinner nymph type bodies and this is a really nicely put together pattern. Did you tie in by the tip and finish behind the head? I keep meaning to try that as it was described by Jim earlier. I need to put down the wire and start tying some herl bodies.

Thanks for the comment, I tied the hackle in from the base not the tip and finished in the front. I have tried different methods of tying in the hackle without great results. Probably just not doing it correctly.

No, you put it together beautifully. I just saw the strand of thread behind the hackle and thought you had pulled off something I had been meaning to try myself. It looks great. Did you dye the hen or find an olive hen cape somewhere?

I like the thin sparse bodies and the sparse hackling also, great job on this one fishhead!

that is actually a piece of the feather, must just be how the pic came out because it does look like thread there.

i like it very much........i might have made the thorax area bout twice that size/length.......but that's neither here nor there.........you did a beautiful job
