sunken bumble bee

with all the black fly's I wanted to tie one up.

hook daiichi scud size 12
thread Sheer black 14/0
rib danville's yellow nylon
body black pheasant tail
thorax black ostrich herl
hackle 2 starling feathers

That is a fly that comes across as, warm, fuzzy, cuddley & freindly... I like it a lot.

Beautiful fly. I love the look of the curved hook, silk ribbing and the hackling. Great pattern.

FH, this has a nice unified quality to it. You almost always see Starling used in a sparse manner, but this fly will make quite an impression, especially in darker water, or down deep. Interesting to see that density from Starling.

thanks for the comments. Will I use 2 feathers with starling on a few of my flies, the fish seem to like it too
