Ruard sent me some really nice dyed dubbing, including a bluish dun hare's mask that I have incorporated into this fanciful dressing ...
Hook: Daiichi 1760, #12
Thread: Pearsall's Gossamer, hot orange
Hackle: Waterhen
Tail: Coq de Leon
Body: Dun hare's mask spun Leisenring style on purple Pearsall's silk thread
This photo is lost.

tie2fish, Howdy;
Nice lookin fly. Like the mix of the orange showing as a tag and the purple as rib in the body..
you should catch a bunch with that.

Ruard ~
I did this time, as I'm in the middle of reading the Leisenring/Hidy book generously loaned to me by Dougsden and just had to try it. I doubt that I will continue to use this process, as I find it more tedious than other methods and it pretty much messed up my tweeds

Full waterhen skins are quite expensive even when you can find them, and most of the really good feathers for small wingless wets/spiders are on the wings anyhow.

So what does that mean Bill? i mean in terms of availability? Do you know where i might find one? Or a wing set?
