Here is my stillwater callibeatis pattern. another with the combination of ostrich. This pattern has been in my box for a long time. The ostrich is great for imitating the gill structure and tail fillaments on stillwater mayfly nymphs.
Hook: Targus 104BL #14
Thread: brown Griffith's 14/0
Hackle: well marked medium partridge
Rib: x-fine silver wire
Tail: ostrich herl tips (two natural grey, one brown)
Abdomen: ostrich herl twisted and wrapped
Thorax: brown ostrich herl

FANTASTIC! I like this one so much I want to make it the background on my PC. This has to be murder as a stillwater fly...

Carl,
Excellent fly and dressing as usual. Love the ostrich herl for the tail and body. I've been using some dark grey in a few flies lately.
