Lovely set of flies, Donald. I especially like the last one. Seems like it could be used as a snail imitation (Stillwater).

The Peacock Spider is a vey well known fly for precisely that.
That particular one is a pretty rough tie. The copper wire underbody is very lumpy, I think I used too heavy a gauge wire.

Donald, Howdy;

I truly DO like what you do with a few things found laying about.
The bottom one looks like one of the "Crunchy on the outside yet Gooey on the insideones". YUMMY, my favorites !
Thanks for sharing,

hank

This is a nice set, Donald. I'm partial to the Ginger fly myself. I like how cohesive the color scheme came out. How are you using the camel dubbing? chopped short and dubbed in a loop, or left long and wrapped as longer fibers? I just picked up a few llama dubbing packs with very long underfur fibers (1"-2"). I'm thinking of laying out a few of a couple colors lined up twisted together like a floss or herls and wrapping them. Any suggestions based on camel, which I assume might be similar.

Very nice Donald. I especially like seeing the tying thread and the tail in the first one showing through. It just makes them seem more lively. :D

Reid's Assassin has long been my go to midge emerger tied on #18 and smaller. I honestly hardly ever use anything different for that moment of the hatch.

Thanks for sharing Donald.

William,
With the camel dubbing, I just teased out a rather slim, flimsy few strands
on to the thread and wound into a ball for a thorax. I do like the camel,
but how similar to its relatives I'm not sure.

Vicki,
The showing of the tying thread and the tail was because I rushed the dressing,
I'm finding my eyes tire if I'm on the vise for a while,
and I do tend to keep going when I should go to bed.
I shall dress another closer to the correct dressing and do a comparison.
It will probably make no difference to the fish.
