Greentail (flymph V.)

This is a pattern that usually has a wing. Makes a pretty nice flymph IMO.

Hook: Mustad Kirby 3135 #14 (note: I bent the eye up just slightly, just because I like it)
Thread: Pearsall's Highlander Green silk tying thread
Body: 3/4 hare's ear dyed gold, 1/4 antron mix primarily same color with a little bit of red and green
Hackle: Natural rusty dun genetic hen neck

Absolutely killer. Great pic too. It's one of the best uses of the green silk that i've seen. I carry some P&G's, but this is a green caddis that is much more to my taste.

To be honest I have never had much luck with the Partridge and Greens either. Orange, yellow and red...yes, but not the green.

Here is the winged version. Original recipe except I used the rusty dun instead of pale ginger. The wing is partridge.

OK that's weird. I was sitting here looking at this and a caddis just landed on my screen. I'm serious, it really did. He must like it too!
